Why?

A Critical Distinction

Evacuation = Transport to the nearest appropriate facility. (The travel insurance approach)
Repatriation = Transport home to the facility of your choice. (The MTA Asssurance)

The Missionary Travel Association and its Missionary Rescue program were created in direct response to the frustrations of missionaries who have encountered exorbitant fees and unreasonable delays when trying to make medevac arrangements.

It’s going to take how long?!?

In early 2009, a missionary family, serving deep in the heart of Asia was forced to fly their daughter back to the USA for treatment of a serious and potentially devastating condition.

Even though the family was insured by a prominent travel insurance company, they were told that it would be a 96 hour wait for an air ambulance to pick them up. Mom later learned that this was because the insurance company had no aircraft and had to put the transport out to bid before her little one could be brought home to a higher level of care. The Missionary Travel Association’s sister company, JET I.C.U. was chosen for the transport and got there in a little over 21 hours. Precious time was lost unnecessarily, but thankfully she has recovered completely.
